Studies suggest that the cognitive ability resulting from moderate sleep deprivation may just be equivalent to that from being drunk, thus causing individuals to severely impair their productivity. One study suggests that exercise might just be the best prescription for insomnia. Researchers found that participants who exercised 4 times a week experienced a 1.25 hour increase in sleep duration and an improvement in their overall sleep hygiene.

 

Exercise boosts brain function

For most jobs, your brain can be one of the greatest assets you own and therefore, you want it to be sharp at all times. A clinical trial run by the Body Brain Performance Institute, showed that there’s a direct link between brain function, physical fitness and work-related stress. According to the research, there was a significant improvement in employee cognition and mood in the exercise group.

When your brain is functioning at its peak, it’s easier to concentrate, make smarter decisions and have a more efficient work routine.
